I bought a Rem prize figure yesterday. It’s the Clear&Dressy figure. In this review, I will tell you all the pros and cons with my figure.
HAIR
The hair on this figure is phenomenal, its sculpt is well made. My figure has a few briars of plastic coming off the hair. The bangs of this figure are slightly transparent, making for a nice effect of the bangs being thinner near the bottom. The headpiece of this Rem looks beautiful, with a kind of gothic lolita undertone. It’s a maid hair piece, but with white roses on the sides, making for an ethereal angelic feel. Under certain lights, the transparent parts look almost lavender instead of peach.
BODY
The pose they have Rem in is a bubbly, smiley greeting-type pose. She’s facing the right, her arm is up in a slight wave. Her other arm is angled at her side. There isn’t much shading anywhere but her chest. She has angel wings protruding from her back. Her hands seem easily breakable, because of how small her hands and fingers are. She looks slightly tanner than her anime counterpart, making her less pale than in the anime. I believe this helps her look slightly less sickly. The pose from the back looks rather odd, and kind of stiff.
DRESS
As the figure name implies, Rem’s dress is slightly transparent and of course, is dressy. The ruffles on her bust are layered, making it have a pale blue appearance. The straps to her dress are a sky blue that mimics her hair. My figure’s straps look uneven and sloppily cut. On her stomach, there’s a ton of ruffles in a corset-like pattern. This part of the dress is rather pale. Rem’s back has a big white bow with flowing ribbons coming from it. Her skirt gets less and less opaque as the ruffles descend. The first set isn’t transparent, the second is very similar to the first, and the bottom’s halfway transparent.
ACCESSORIES
The first accessory we’ll talk about is the puffs on her arms. My figure has a random piece of plastic coming out from the side, but when the figure is placed in a certain manner it’s unnoticeable. The puffs are as fluffy as they could get with plastic. Her choker is nothing of note, it’s a white piece of plastic with a small gold dot on it. She’s wearing white thigh highs. Yes, the top of the thigh highs, on her legs, are billowing out with plastic skin. The thigh highs are white, with a plastic fluffy bit on the top. My figure has a gray smear on her right calf. Her shoes sport a few bows, one on where the heel is, and one where the shoe connects. There’s a ton of scuffs on my figure’s shoes.
Finally, the FACE
Yes, I decided to put the face almost last. Unlike a lot of prize figures, her face is actually quite beautiful and well made. She has a teal iris with a dark blue shadow, with a ton of highlights. Her eyes have two small eyelashes near the bottom and 3 at the top and side. She has a dark brown eyelid. They even did the detail of the blue eyebrow. Her mouth is open and you can slightly see teeth. I’d say her face is really well made.
Personally, I love Rem, and I think this figure is extremely well made for a prize figure. Her sculpt is beautiful, and all the small details leave me finding more and more with each new inspection. I love the simple color palette, but if they could make the gold dot on her choker the same color as her hair clip, it’d be even better. I personally rate this figure a solid 8/10! Compared to my other figures, it’s easily a 10/10.
What they did right: (My subjective opinion)
1. They made the hair beautifully, showing slight transparency in the bangs.
2. The dress is very well designed, with a contrast in colors.
3. The color palette is very simple, and very cohesive.
And, also what they did wrong:
1. There’s tons of tiny little errors in my figure, like the scuff on her calf and some plastic briars.
2. They barely shaded this figure.
3. The pose seems stiff at some angles.
4. She looks like she’ll fall if she were real, her legs aren’t in line with her hips.
DEGEN ZONE
Now, what everyone wants. Welcome to the degen zone! Since this is the first degen zone, I’ll explain quickly what it is. The degen zone is the zone that’s optional, (well, all of it is optional) if you wanna know how good the figures “”parts”” are. Have a fun time! If you turn the figure upside down, you’re met with a view of teal underwear. There’s a bump near the front so at least it’s anatomically correct. They did the folds well, and they even included the seams of the underwear. The makers make her bottom half well-endowed, which you’re quick to see. Like I mentioned earlier, the chest is the part with the most shading. They added slight cleavage, and a shadow above the breasts. All in all, 7.5/10 in degen.
